PAIRS COMPETITION

PAIRS COMPETITION 2018
  • The theme of this year's Pairs Competition is an outdoor hockey game.
  • Your team may create your own outdoor game or you can expand on an already existing outdoor game.
  • Your team will be required to create logos and jerseys for your game.
  • Projects will be judged and voted on based on their professional look, creativity, and skill.

Get creative because it may be the difference between 1st and last place.

These rules are just a start. As long as you comply with these rules anything extra is welcome!

Section 1 - Title Page
You'll definitely want your names attached to a project like this. We'll also need to know what we are about to look at. But this isn't a fax, so don't just submit a black and white text based page. Do a Google search for some other sports based design projects and model your cover page after those projects. This project is about style. Make it look good and encourage the readers to look at the complete presentation.

Section 2 - Teaser
You'll likely want to complete this part last, but it will be the first thing readers see. Create a teaser. This can be a teaser for a specific part of your project or a teaser for the entire project. A good teaser can really put the readers in a positive frame of mind when eventually viewing your project (see Carolina's jersey teases in 2013). A terrible teaser, and readers can turn on you before they've even seen your project (see Buffalo jersey tease in 2013). In past years teams have completed this portion of the project as an image, a Twitter campaign, or even a video! It's all up to you.

Section 3 - Event Logo
Your outdoor game will need a logo. Create a logo for your game, but you may also show us wordmarks and logo variations. Show us some different applications of your logo. Perhaps take this opportunity to explain certain elements of your logo. How you want to present this section is up to your team, we just need to see your game logo.

Section 4 - Jersey Page #1
This section will display the jersey that one of the teams will wear in your outdoor game. Take a look at how other teams have presented their jerseys digitally. Take some inspiration from those presentaions to make something interesting to look at.

Section 5 - Jersey Page #2
This section will display the jersey that the other team will wear in your outdoor game. Take a look at how other teams have presented their jerseys digitally. Take some inspiration from those presentaions to make something interesting to look at.

Section 6 - Wild Card Page (Optional)
There are no rules for this section. This section isn't even mandatory. Completing something for this section certainly would help your chances of winning though. Simply create something that pertains to your game for the Wild Card Section. There are absolutely no rules for this section. It's your chance to do whatever you want.

Each section should be submitted as an image (PNG, JPG, GIF). You don't have to limit yourself to a single image for each of these sections. If the section requires multiple images then so be it! In fact, don't limit yourself at all. Perhaps you want to present your completed project entirely as a video? Or maybe some sections will be a video presentation and others will be images? Or maybe you've thought of some other cool way to present your work that will make our jaws drop? Make your presentation fun and interesting. It's all up to you. The only requirement is that it can be viewed by readers on the HJC webpage.

Presentations due Friday, June 22 @ noon ET

The list of people isn't showing up for me, all I get is the form again.
