It is super important that we get all your votes in to determine the COTY Champ, you have the chance to influence HJC history. So who's it gonna be? Is Justin C. going to become the first back to back HJC COTY champion, or will the DBro come out on top? The power is in your hands to determine the fate of the world.

also, don't forget to send in your regular COTW vote, or your flames redesign entries!

2013 COTY Final vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is my weekly plug for the HJC meet-up which I am hoping will still take place on the Heritage classic weekend in Vancouver. As of right now, I have only heard from one person who is interested. If you are interested, please get in touch with me (either through the HJC facebook page, or via email... just email Ryan, and he will pass it on to me). Since it is basically 30 days until the classic the response I get in the next week or so will determine what sort of meet-up this will be. If it is just me and one other, cool, we'll meet up and chat, take a picture in our jerseys then head to the game, but if suddenly a flood of 15 other people decide they want to join (and express interest to me soon) bigger plans will have to be made. Since getting a space for a lot of people to hang out on Heritage Classic weekend could be a challenge, please express interest as soon as possible.

On to Today's Concepts!

New Jersey Devils - Matt Mc.

As much as I love the red and green Devils throwbacks that New Jersey sported for their stadium series game last week, I really think the Devils should have used a new jersey (hehe). Of the 3 teams that played at Yankee Stadium I feel like New Jersey's logo lends itself best to a modernized jersey. Matt does a really good job of creating that modern jersey while preserving the retro elements from the throwback uniforms, and the best thing is that it doesn't look mashed up, but instead looks polished and cohesive. Seriously, some brilliant work here from Matt. 9/10 and a COTW nom.

Washington Capitals - Tyler G.

Some great, clean, simple uniforms here from Tyler. I think the three stars above the Weagle logo do really add some balance. I do like that the three star motif is continued throughout the jersey, but think it could be pushed a tad further by adding three stars to each shoulder. Also, for the home sweater, the blue gets a bit lost for me, perhaps mismatch the jerseys and put the blue stripe between two white stripes on the red sweater to add some pop. 8/10.

Team USSR - Stephen T.

A good looking set of jerseys here from Stephen. I really like the striping pattern, and having the CCCP on the back instead of a player's name, that seems like something the soviets would love! I would like to see the creativity pushed a little bit more. One place where I would start is the stars on the shoulders, could something be done to get the TV number inside them for an old-school/All-Star vibe? Also, I know you are emulating the USSR flag, but it seems like a good idea to get that hammer and sickle emblem over the player's heart. 7.5/10.

Pittsburgh Penguins - Felix T.

The striping design on this sweater is actually pretty cool. It reminds me of the classic four stripe pattern that the Pens used most recently on their Winter Classic jerseys, but it is modernized a bit. One thing I would suggest is making the stripes a bit bolder, right now they are a bit too thin. Also adding some white into the striping could make the jersey pop a bit more. Also, the logo seems too big and is positioned too low on the sweater, easy fix. 7/10.

Carolina Hurricanes - Justin S.

HUGE creativity props to you Justin! Everyone is complaining about how the Canes screwed up their redesign by dropping the Hurricane (...errr tropical storm) striping pattern, and Justin literally puts the players in that flag (on the home jersey at least). The best part of this concept is the from of the home jersey, from that I understand what is trying to be done. This concept doesn't really work on a white sweater, you lose the flag motif, but if polished it would be awesome as an alternate or fan jersey. Here are a few suggestions: perhaps go black on black for the logo on the front, if the logo is more subtle, the flag pattern will pop. Maybe consider a wordmark logo, because as is it feels weird having so many curved lines inside a box. Make the boxes on the front and back the same size, re-size the numbers to fit, and put the NOB outside the box. Cool idea, it takes major cojones to put something this creative out there. Overall needs a bit of polish, but for such creativity, 7/10.

Boston Bruins - Felix T.

First off, Felix, you really should identify yourself on these concepts. Take some credit! I like the overall look here. I think the white/black striping on the arm should be bolder, and that there should also be a thick black hem. Not a fan of the chest numbers here. The bruins could do with a decent gold alternate, and this seems like a good place to start. 7/10.

Pittsburgh Penguins - Ian V.

I was just looking at the Pens sweaters, and marvelling at how "modern" they are currently and thinking to myself that they should do themselves a favour and truly modernize by stepping up to the Stadium series template. Ian gives us this. The sweaters don't feel a lot different than their current look, but they make a whole lot more logical sense. Continuous stripes, n random patches of colour, and they fit well with the logo and have some unique shoulder striping. I am a fan. Not so sold on the alternate, probably better to dig up a gold throwback to complete this set, That is what Pens fans want. 7.5/10.

Atlanta Thrashers - Dallas K.

When the Thashers were still a thing, I thought that they should have downplayed the blue in their colour scheme and focussed on maroon and gold. Dallas does a good job of that here. I really dig the maroon sweater, and like the striping how the striping pattern plays out on the white sweater, but to me the white sweater seems empty. The maroon sweater is good without hem stripes, but the white sweater could benefit from them I think. 8/10.

2017 Heritage Classic - Toronto vs Montreal - Tristan M.

Dear Hockey gods, I pray that this happens. Amen. Habs vs Leafs outdoors, celebrating the Leafs centennial, the only person who could possibly screw that up/think that was a bad idea is Gary Bettman. As for the sweaters, I like the Leafs one, good use of stripes, they aren't overdone here, and the logo choice is good. As for the Habs, I would like to see them in red, so this game could be colour vs colour. Whenever I think Leafs, I think blue, whenever I think Habs, I think red. As is the Habs have too much blue on their sweaters. Overall, I do like these sweaters, but I like the idea of a centennial Leafs vs Habs heritage classic even more! 7.5/10.

Well that's it for Friday, make sure to get your votes in, and check back here on the weekend to see who will take home the HJC crown this year!

Thursday: More Stadium, Less Chrome

By the time you've read this post, the NHL would have had 4 outdoor games this season, with two more games later in the year.  For those who don't like all of these outdoor games, I have some pretty bad news for you.

It seems inevitable that we will have multiple outdoor games again next season. I doubt we'll see six of them, but probably three or four.  We know Washington will be hosting the Winter Classic, there will likely be a Heritage Classic game, and probably one or two Stadium Series games.

If there are more Stadium Series games, then I think the chrome logos have to go. New Jersey didn't even wear their chrome logo on their jersey, and the Rangers relegated theirs to the shoulder.  The other teams that wore them? Meh, not a good look for a logo.

The outdoor game in Los Angeles had two modern jerseys, and considering the atmosphere of the game, I think it worked out well.  But the snowy games in New York deserve an "old-time hockey" sweater, like what New Jersey wore.  Vintage jerseys are what make the NHL special, not too many teams from other sports can look great in an old uniform, so I think the NHL needs to use that, especially in the big hockey markets. But for the game in Los Angeles, and potentially in Phoenix, San Jose, Dallas, or a redo of the Las Vegas game, modern gimmicky jerseys work the best.

*************************************************

But enough of that, we have the grand finale vote for COTY going on this week, and we need to get as many votes in as we can.  Who wins the title of the best concept of 2013? The only way to find out is if everyone chips in and votes.  It only takes a few minutes to help create history.  Is that overly dramatic? Nope, because:

Delaware Pioneers Concept - Alan H.

Yay: Let's start today with a team we should be all familiar with by now, the Delaware Pioneers.  This concept has a lot going for it; traditional striping pattern, good colour balance, good font selection, and clean execution.  The best part of this concept however is the yoke stripes.  They look really sharp, and its just the thing this jersey needs to go from plain to cool.

Nay: I don't have a lot to complain about with the jersey, because the execution is pretty well spot on, and it looks like a good jersey.  I'd probably make the main number a little bigger, or lower on the jersey. And while its hard to tell without zooming in close, the stripe sizes on the dark jersey, specifically the thin blue stripes between the red and white, look uneven in places. That could be a scaling issue or a miss in execution, but at least this problem isn't on the white jersey at all.

Overall:  It's a good, traditional looking jersey, and comparing it to the winning concept, this might not have been too far off from winning.  8/10

Anaheim Ducks Concept - Felix H.

Yay: When I see this jersey, I immediately think of the black and purple 3rd jersey Anaheim had from 2003-06, and their eventual cup run while using those jerseys.  I'd love for that look to come back again, and this isn't far off from what I'd like to see.  The striping pattern looks good, the font choice is pretty accurate, the number below the collar is different but I like it, and it ties in with both eras of (Mighty) Ducks history.

Nay: To be really nitpicky, there are some colouring issues on the shoulder patches.  Really hard to spot, but there are some leftover pixels from the original logo before it was recoloured to white.  I think the logo could be moved up just a little bit, and I think the white stripes on the arms should be at the end of the purple area, towards the shoulders, so it matches the style of the hem.

Overall: I was a huge Mighty Ducks fan when they made that Cup run in 2003, and this concept feels like a blast from the past for me. Well done! 7.8/10

Milwaukee Admirals Concept - Dylan W.

Yay: Today, Dylan brings us his Milwaukee Admirals jersey. Right away, I like the concept based on the fact it's main colour is light blue, not black or grey as Milwaukee use or used as their dark jersey.  The striping pattern is nothing fancy, but being an older team like they are, traditional striping patterns work well for this team.

Nay: I'm not sure if I like the black outline for all of the white stripes.  Maybe white and light blue clashes, but having an outline for the stripe like that doesn't really look realistic in my mind.  I also think that the white outline on the main black number could be just a little more noticeable, like a pixel or two thicker.

Overall: Execution seems pretty good, and it's a jersey that is believable and better than what they wear currently. 8/10

Team Ireland Concept - Matt M.

Yay: At first, I wasn't a huge fan of the logo, but being a mix between 2 different major flags of Ireland, I became more fond of it. The trouble with the logo is that is has different shades of 3 colours, so how do you pick what to use on the jersey? Well Matt does a great job here, as the jersey looks great and works well with its logo, and most of it's equipment works just as well.

Nay: When I say most of the equipment, I mean everything but the white socks. I think the white socks would be better off without the dark wavy design at the top. Also, it bothers me a bit that the dark green cuffs on one jersey is thicker than the other. I'd personally make the cuffs on the dark jersey thicker to match the white jersey.  Finally, I'd make the collar on the white jersey dark green, to match better with it's dark counterpart.

Overall: The execution of the set looks fantastic, but there are a few design changes I'd make to it. 7.7/10

Victory (1981 Movie) Concept - Stephen T.

Yay: This has to be one of the more interesting concepts I've ever got the chance to review.  If you don't know the movie, I do recommend it, especially if you're a sports fan and history buff.  Anyways, the concept of making hockey jerseys for these fictional soccer teams works pretty well, and the World War 2 connection can easily be seen on both of these jerseys.

Nay: Design wise, there are a few flaws.  On the black jerseys, you forgot to colour the back left shoulder white. Also, the bottom of the jersey looks pretty bare, for a hockey jersey in the same era.  On the white jersey, the logo in the center looks too big, and the stripes could be a little thicker on the arms and socks.

Overall: The designs are OK, but the concept is awesome because of what it's trying to do. As an aside, it would be pretty funny to see Sylvester Stallone in goalie pads. 7.5/10

Sudbury Wolves Concept - Phil B.

Yay: Historically, Sudbury has had some of the worse jerseys in the CHL, and they haven't gotten much better or worse over time. Among them are their awful 3rd jerseys, including their current one, which has this logo. Mixing this logo, their current arm style, and Winnipeg Jets' arm stripes creates a jersey that is quite an improvement on most of Sudbury's jersey history.  It's a good mix of old and new.

Nay: The all grey/white logo still looks weird on a blue background, similar to the look of the Pittsburgh Penguins through the 70's.  The jersey's design is actually pretty good, I don't have a lot to complain about it, but I would change the collar colour to either grey, or the arm colour. And maybe slightly thicker grey stripes on the pants.

Overall: I'm not a fan of the jersey, but it feels like an improvement compared to Sudbury's current looks. 7.5/10

Hartford vs Bridgeport AHL Stadium Series Concept - Justin S.

Yay: Stylistically, there isn't a gigantic difference between this concept and the concept that won the AHL Stadium Series competition. That shows how well this concept keeps with the Stadium Series look everyone seems to love. The striping design looks good on both jerseys and equipment. I know most of the Stadium Series jerseys are coloured, but I think the white works better in Bridgeport's case. Both jerseys have the S.S. styles too it, and would be believable sets for both teams.

Nay: The biggest downer of this concept is that the striping pattern is the same on both jerseys. The striping pattern works for Bridgeport because it closely resembles their parent club's jersey. But Hartford's striping pattern could have had something different, closer to the Rangers jersey maybe. Hartford should have blue pants instead of going with an all-red look, and the box around the name bar doesn't need to be there.

Overall: If it was just Bridgeport's jersey, this would score higher, but the Wolf Pack jersey brings this concept down. 7/10

St. John's IceCaps Concept - Andrew G.

Yay: Ah, the beautiful double-blue of Winnipeg/St. John's. We all should know by know that I'm a sucker for double-blue jerseys. Other than how great the colours look together, the arm style looks fantastic, and it is transitioned very well on both jerseys of the main set. The sublimated iceberg on the bottom of the jersey is just plain awesome. Finally, the 3rd jersey, minus the logo, is the perfect classic looking jersey.

Nay: I'll start with the 3rd. Again, perfect classic jersey, besides the logo. I'm a fan of the logo itself, but it looks too new to be in place with this jersey. A wordmark might even work better here than that logo. And on the main white jerseys, I feel like there needs to be grey somewhere in the striping, to match the striping pattern of the dark jersey better.

Overall: A slight colour change, and swapping the logo on an already good looking jersey, and this set would be perfect. 8.2/10

Washington vs Carolina Rival Colours Series Concept - Me

Well its a little difficult to do a full review on my own jersey, so I'll just chat about it a little bit.  I'm almost done with this series, but I've been busy the last few weeks so the final few concepts remaining are a little behind schedule, but should be here in a couple of weeks, month at the latest. This concept in particular was really difficult. I could have gone the easy route, replicate their current jerseys, and surely have a better design at the end, but that's no fun. For Washington, I went back to their 90's style of jersey, which always looks great. For the Hurricanes, I found a stitching style I thought was unique, threw colour all over it, and created something incredibly awesome yet awful at the same time. I feel like if the people who created the Buffalo 3rd wanted to make a Hurricanes jersey with red and blue, this is what you'd get.

So that's my story on it, but I'd love to hear your feedback and thoughts on it. Thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this series so far, and hopefully you wont have to wait long until the next batch comes in.

*************************************************

Alright, now that I'm done shamelessly self-promoting myself,I will announce that, after some pondering, I'm going to give Andrew's St. John's IceCaps concept my COTW nomination. There really wasn't a standout concept today, but lots of good concept that made this a difficult decision.

Well that wraps it up for today. Please take a minute to vote for the votes going on this week, including the FINALS FOR 2013 COTY. That's a big honour for one of those two designers, and you can help make that a reality for them.

Thanks for reading, and have a good weekend!

Wednesday: More Outdoor Hockey

It's been fun watching the two Stadium Series games that have taken place over the last week. The production that went on to make Dodger Stadium some sort of fantasy of hockey on the beach put a cool spin on the sport we all love. Tonight, we will see the Rangers and Islanders hit the Yankee Stadium ice. The Rangers will wear their stunning white event uniforms, while the Islanders will sport their speculated future alternate. The Rangers' jersey is the best of all in this series. I'd love to see that as a future away uniform, but I think there's something really special about a one-off jersey that a team wears for a special game before hanging it up in the history books.

HJC's annual COTY voting is going on right now! This is the biggest vote of the year so don't miss your opportunity to vote. Missing this vote is like missing Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. There are two great concepts so once again, VOTE!

Now today's concepts:

Alan H. - Team Canada Concept

Design: This reminds me of the old Team Canada jerseys, and I wish they would have gone with something closer to this for the Olympics. I like how you included advertizements on the jerseys. I also like how the sock striping matches the shoulder striping. I'm not sure I have seen, or at least noticed, something like that on a jersey before.
Execution: I think the advertizements may be a little bit large. I don't like how the ads cut into the nameplate. Otherwise, it's a pretty well done concept.

Score: 7/10 -Keep up the good work! I hope there are some other countries coming soon.

Ben A. - AHL Stadium Series Concept

Design: Ben has decided that the Monarchs and Admirals will play a purple vs. red game out in the elements. I like the striping pattern on the sleeves of the Monarchs jersey, and I like the crest you put on the jersey. It's very different from their everyday crest and it looks good on this jersey. I wish the Admirals jersey had arm striping because I like the anchor crest along with the hem stripe.
Execution: As I said, I like the arm striping on the Monarchs jersey, but the striping should be a little bit larger and higher up the jersey. The red jersey desperately needs arm striping. Both need numbers on the sleeves. The crests are also too large.

Score: 5/10 -You are on the right track, but there are a few things that need to be added.

Dallas K. - Edmonton Oilers Alternate Concept

Design: The Oilers have never worn orange, and topping the team's 2001 alternate jersey is a touch feat. The logo is a gem. Edmonton would be nuts to not consider that as an alternate logo. I like the striping pattern. I would maybe consider a hem stripe to complement the arm striping. I have also never been a fan of the chest number, but it really adds to this particular concept.
Execution: Nothing strikes my eye as a major error. I think the grey and white detail on the shoulder yoke is a little to small to pick out the detail, but that's artist preference as opposed to an execution error.

Score: 8/10 - This jersey looks great. When are the Oilers wearing these?

David P. - Anaheim Ducks Concept

Design: David designs a set of uniforms around the "not so mighty" Ducks' current alternate uniform. The Ducks have actually been rumored to be making this type of uniform change next season, so we may see a set of jerseys like this in not too long. I personally think this look is significantly better than the Ducks current set. The orange alternate is a great looking jersey. The recolored Mighty Ducks crest is what makes that jersey. I also never realized how good the white version of their alternate would look.
Execution: The entire concept is very pixelated. Try to submitting a higher quality version because this is a very good looking set.

Score: 6/10 - This set could be an 7-8, but the pixelation is very distracting.

Dylan W. - Hershey Bears 3rd Concept
Design: I am a big fan of the Hershey Bears' redesign from a few seasons ago. This jersey has a very different look than the Bears home & away uniforms, but it would look great on the ice. I like how you took the bear from the primary logo and used it as the crest. The striping pattern is my favorite part of this concept though.
Execution: As always, Dylan gives us a very clean concept. I like how he makes all the different shades of brown work.

Score: 9/10 - COTW Nomination for sure!

Matt M. - NCAA Outdoors Concept

Design: The people have spoken, and the above concept was voted as the winner of HJC's NCAA Take It Outdoors Competition. I really dig the two-tone Michigan jersey. Who needs white? I'm not sure the cross-hatching on the crest is necessary, but it doesn't look bad by any means. The Ohio State concept is great as well. Even though the gray number is a bit hard to see, I like it as is. The striping pattern is really cool as well.
Execution: I am a little bit bothered by the difference in thickness of the yellow striping on the Michigan jersey. I also feel like the stripes should go over the detail of the template.

Score: 8/10 - It's a contest winner, so it obviously is an awesome concept.

Mike S. - AHL Stadium Series Concept

Design: I am a fan of both jerseys here. I like the shoulder yoke on both jerseys, especially how the detail is different on each. I wouldn't cut out the area around the Reebok logo, but I get why you chose to design it that way. I also like the arm striping on Albany's jersey. It looks similar to the Devils Stadium Series striping, but it still maintains the modern theme.
Execution: The name on the black jersey is a little bit pixely, but this is an otherwise good looking concept. I really wish the Devils wore something closer to this last Sunday. I also would like to see a logo on the helmets.

Score: 7/10 - Only minor mistakes on this concept. Nice work!

Stephen T. - Hershey Bears Concept

Design: Stephen gives us our second Hershey Bears concept of the day. Every detail, down to the pants striping, reminds me of the Blackhawks Winter Classic jersey. I happen to love that jersey. I really like the cream colored uniform. I can't picture a cream helmet, bit I'm not sure brown would look good with a light jersey.
Execution: The nameplate is a little pixelated, but doesn't really take away from this concept. The lack of shoulder patches is actually the biggest hit to this concept.

Score: 7.5/10 - This is another one of today's concepts that I would love to see hit the ice! I would definitely love to add the lighter jersey to my collection.

William B. - Minnestota vs. New Jersey Rivals Colors Concept
Design: In William's newest installment to his series, trades the colors of the Wild and Devils. The first thing I notice is that the Devils concepts don't look much different from their original uniforms. This look would actually be a really good look for the Devils, as it reflects their current uniforms, and is very close to their original color scheme. The Wild, on the other hand, try an entirely new color scheme. I would have never considered these colors for the Wild, but it looks great. My favorite feature is the detail in the numbers.

Execution: There isn't much wrong that I can see on this concept. I wish we could see a bigger image of the Wild's shoulder patch. It is very hard to see what it represents.

Score: 7/10 - This is a good way to end a post of many great concepts!

The quality of work of the HJC artists is amazing. Keep those concepts coming! Remember to VOTE!

Tuesday: Calling All Jersey Lovers!

Hey everyone! Hope you're enjoying the first half of your weeks. I got something sorta big I want to get to but first the important stuff!

If you're only going to vote once a year, make it this weeks vote for COTY. It's finally here guys. It my very own Carolina Hurricanes concept up against Justin Cox's Colorado Avalanche concept. We would love to have a huge voter turnout. I think it'd be pretty great if we set some sort of HJC record!

As always we still have the weekly COTW vote that has 5 entries, so hop on that too!

Get your Calgary Flames Redesign entries in this week as well. I've already seen some pretty good ones.

My Jersey Collection
Now, I'm hoping I end up with a good paying job, or become a pretty good heist man. One thing that I would love to have in the future is a huge jersey collection. I like seeing the readers send in their jersey collections. It's nice to see some of the things people find. I thought I'd share mine with you guys too.

My Prized Possession
As you'll see, I'm clearly a homer....I'd like to show off my Rockford Icehogs alternate jersey from this season, but it's currently off getting Antti Raanta's name and number put on it because when he gets all big and Vezina-worthy I'm going to be all, oh yeah, I liked him when he was an IcePig.

Oh and hey... let's not forget the prized possession

And now your daily concepts!

Baltimore Ravens Hockey Concept - Jack C.
Well the Super Bowl is less than a week away so why not take a look at a football concept? Well this team was in the Big Game last year so there's that. Very dark jersey, it's hard to tell the black and purple apart in the arm striping. I'd also rather see the Raven's primary logo on the front of the jersey. TV numbers would be good too.

Rating: 6/10

Quebec Nordiques Concept - Christian L.
We've seen a lot of these the past few weeks. The color scheme is alright. I wouldn't mind seeing a silver and blue scheme. I'm not a huge fan of inconsistent stripes between home and away jerseys. That logo isn't my favorite either. I'm not big on the nickname logos, especially on the primary jerseys. The 3rd jersey has the better logo, but Why doesn't the lighter blue work its way into the arm and hem striping?

Rating: 6.5/10

Tampa Bay Lightning Concept - Dallas K.
A lot more black has been added onto the Lightning's set. I think it's unnecessary. I know a lot of people like the Bolts in black, but I prefer the "Original 6 Dress Up" look. It's so much cleaner. The I don't like Black and Blue touching here. There's not enough contrast. Find a different striping pattern so the two can be told apart. The logo looks way better without an outline as well.

Rating: 7/10

New York Rangers Stadium Series Concept - Caleb F.
I would have liked to see the Rangers go this direction with their Stadium jersey. I don't like the jersey they went with. This is a lot cleaner and the return of the Lady Liberty logo would make a lot of people very happy.  The "NYR" logo or the futuristic version of the Rangers' shield would have been nice on the shoulder.

Rating: 8/10

Phoenix Coyotes Concept - Scott D.
Scott brings back the Aztec patterns. I've always thought they looked good in this color scheme, and I know many others do as well. The new font is better than their current one, though I still feel there could be a better fit out there. Nothing new here, but still pretty solid.

Rating: 8/10

Vancouver Canucks Concept - Stephen T.
I'm a pretty big fan of concepts that use the Johnny Canuck logo well. I feel Stephen uses him very well here. I'm getting tired of seeing the "V" striping but you can't argue it would probably look good. I don't know how I feel about it being on the primary jerseys. I feel like that should be on an alternate. Other than that, this is a solid concept. I think this would be a great Vancouver set.

Rating: 8/10

Pittsburgh Penguins Stadium Series "Fix-It" - Ryan H. (HJC)
The Penguins' Stadium jersey is on I actually don't mind. Not much has changed here, the gimmicky numbers and incomplete stripes are gone...good... I prefer this yoke to the one actually being used. The logo is the best part though. I would love to see a Robo-Pen comeback! I'd like to see thicker striping though. But since this is a "fix-it" I can see Ryan wasn't trying to shake things up.

Rating: 8.5/10

Chicago Blackhawks Stadium Series "Fix-It" - Ryan H. (HJC)
Ryan, yes! I would have prefered this black jersey if they were going for "something new" I know I've had a concept with this basic idea, and I've seen a few others I believe, so I'm glad I'm not alone on thinking this would be a good look. I really like the new look of the "C" logo. It fits a lot better with this jersey. Only thing I'd change here is keep the bottom of the hem white like the red jersey.

San Jose Sharks Alternate Jersey Concept - Tristan M.
Tristan suggests teams take on a CCM, non-edge, alternate jersey. As neat as that could be, I actually like the Edge jerseys, I don't know why though. But jersey cut aside, I love this concept. I love the amount of orange. FINALLY someone embraces the orange! The yoke style gives this jersey a "classic" feel which I'm ok with, it looks so good. Wouldn't mind seeing a tad more white but as is, this is great.
