I think all of those votes require a quick rundown...

COTW Jan 16-22 (ends Thursday @ 11:59pm EST)
3rd Jersey Top 5 Vote (ends Sunday @ 11:59pm EST)

I've been thinking about the next contest and the idea I've come up with is to create a new 3rd jersey for the Florida Panthers before they do themselves. What do you guys think? If you have a better idea please share it in the comments. To have maximum participation I want to do the most popular choice!

---------------------------------------------------

"Mean Machine" numbers (by John T.)
John was watching the remake of the Longest Yard and wanted to do up the numbers from the team in that movie. These are free for everyone to use on their concepts. Thanks John.

Los Angeles Kings concepts (by Stephen T.)
I like the grey concept, but I think it needs shoulder patches or just something a little more. It's a touch too plain for me. I'd like the black concept if the striping was the same as the grey.

Tampa Bay Lightning concept (by Tyler)
Tyler created this for the Lightning's 20th season, which will be next year. I like that he's put together a logo for the occasion, but it needs to be applied better to the jersey. Also, watch that re-colouring inside the collar as it has bled into the neck insert and the NHL shield.

Washington Capitals concept (by Josh)
A decent concept here from Josh with a classic striping design. The #8 TV number should appear cut in half, the same way we do should patches. Right now it reads that Ovechkin is #88. Also, your stitching has been cut off on the back where it says Reebok.

Chicago Blackhawks concept (by Michael L.)
Michael has taken the logos and switched their places. Not very creative, but I guess I can say nice execution.

Chicago Blackhawks concepts (by Torin)
Altered striping on the home sweater with a new road sweater and two new 3rds here! I don't like the TV numbers going over top of the stripes on the home and roads. I do like the re-creation of the heritage jersey though. The 3rd jersey based on vintage striping looks good, but again the numbers go over the stripes.

St. Louis Blues concepts (by Dave C.)
I was never a fan of the red in the Blues' colour scheme and so obviously I like the bottom concept better. Nice work with "hiding" the arch in the jersey. I also like the blue collar and how the blue continues into the lace's stitching.

St. Louis Blues concepts (by Joni)
Joni keeps the current 3rd jersey and comes up with new home and road concepts. I really love the execution on these, but I don't like the coloured panels under the arms. I find that they become irrelevant when the jersey is on the players' backs.

St. Louis Blues concept (by Spirit104)
As I've said before, I think the trumpet logo, as used here, would be perfect for a current Blues shoulder patch. I like this concept, but I think I'd like it even more if the arm stripes went over the sleeves, just like the current Jets sweaters.

Orlando Solar Bears concepts (by WinnipegJets96)
Jets96 created these after the Solar Bears revealed their new updated logo. He's used the bright shades that are typically associated with Florida on his jerseys. I thought I didn't like these at first, but after a second look I have changed my mind. They have "Florida Hockey" written all over them.

Dallas Stars concept (by Mason H.)
The Texas Stars' new 3rd jersey seems to be somewhat of a hit with concept artist. Mason has taken that sweater and made it a jersey for the parent club. The stars on the sleeves are great as is the "Dallas" wordmark inside the collar. I personally would have left the Texas state flag in its regular colours, but I could see this working as well. COTW nomination from me.

Seattle Metropolitans concepts (by Justin)
I thought I would have seen these in PuckDrawn's Seattle Competition. The logo is pretty solid, but the shade of green is a bit too 90's neon for my tastes.

Mason's Stars Seconded

It would be interesting to tally the number of times that a Dallas concept has been voted COTW... yet, none have been voted into COTY. Does this mean the Stars are due for a redesign?
@Ryan, how about expansion/relocation concepts for the next comp.(e.g. Quebec, KC, Seattle, Hamilton)

How about an Islanders 3rd jersey redesign?

I'd go with a Panthers third comp or maybe a Solar Bears contest.

Anybody like my Jets jersey?

@josh: i would ditch the hem design, too much like the nords.

i say we have a coyotes rebrand. theyre desperately in need of one

I wanted to have something modern for the Blues, so I took side panels (with out typical EDGE-piping to go up to the collar), instead of hem striping. Since side panel striping modern and underrated in my opinion.

Dcamp idea for the next contest! we already did a create youyr own ahl team one. why not nhl??? the 6 places that deserve a team: kansas city, seattle, hartford, quebec, halifax and hamilton.

I would love to do create a team, but most people here don't draw their own logos. Can't do a Hartford comp and have 20 entries using other teams sports logos.

I suggest something we rarely see : All-Star Game jerseys competition. What a great way to think outside the box and trying something new !

I would love to see that Metropolitans concept in the original team's red white and green with the original S logo used as a shoulder patch.
