Last night was the Heritage Classic. I watched a bit of it but, I was pulled away by shinny hockey. I did notice a couple of things though. First, in the original uniform sheet that Reebok and the Flames released, it showed the player model wearing throwback brown gloves. When equipment pictures surfaced about a week ago, no vintage gloves were seen. Maybe this was a change made late in the process?
Another thing I noticed was the "special edition" Heritage Classic Canadiens jerseys that were being sold. What a load a crap these are!First, the collar on the "special edition" sweater looks as it did in the 90's but, not as they were in the actual Heritage Classic! Second, the stupid NHL patch on the chest. If you don't have a neck insert to put it on, then put it on the back of the jersey!!! All year I figured that they just expected you to purchase regular Canadiens jerseys and add the Heritage Classic patch. I didn't realize they were waiting for the DAY OF the game to release a crappy never before used/seen jersey. I also had forgotten how under whelming the Habs jersey choice was.
Speaking of the Heritage Classic, I asked who would be watching. 86% of people who responded watched the Classic. 95% of Canadians who responded said that they would watch the game. While, 80% of non Canadians who answered said that they too would be watching.
Two weeks ago, for the Weekly Poll I asked what the most over used element is on NHL jerseys. This week I'm asking what your favourite element is on NHL jerseys. Voting is on the right side of the page and runs until Sunday @ 11:59pm EST.
Last week I also asked if readers would be interested in another redesign competition. It was a resounding YES. So for this week I will be accepting OTTAWA SENATORS redesigns. Refer to the SENATORS COMP tab for contest rules.
COTW nominees have been announced. Refer to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab to see those who have been nominated. Voting is on the left side of the page and will run until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST.
That's all for now. I may have a concept post later this evening...maybe.
