Capitals, Ducks, Devils and Sabres.

Back with some more concepts.

We'll start tonight with a Washington Capitals third jersey post. A third has been rumoured for the Caps for a couple of years now. Will we see one next season? If we do, will it be red? White? Or maybe something like this?

For this Anaheim Ducks concept. I took their old Mighty Ducks alternate logo and changed it to only say "Anaheim" and match their colours. Then I put it on a vintage looking jersey.

Next is the Sabres, who will be going with their current 3rd's full time next season. They will introduce a new alternate. Here is my Buffalo Sabres new alternate concept.

The Devils will probably never have an alternate jersey (though they will wear their vintage reds one time this season), but if they were to have an alternate maybe it would be black. Thusly, my black New Jersey Devils concept.
That oughta hold 'em.

Hawks Reveal "New" 3rd Jersey

The Chicago Blackhawks revealed their alternate sweater. I would say it's new, but it's last year terrific Winter Classic jersey...with a new shoulder patch!

The jersey will make it's first appearance on December 1 against Columbus, who will be lucky enough to see the 3rd uni three times this season.

Numbering and font are the same as last year's.

Seeing as we're talking about the Hawks, here's a Chicago concept that I put together earlier this year.

Also, here's an Edmonton Oilers concept from their WHA days.

Usually, orange jerseys don't go over that well, but I would really like this jersey as a third for the Oil.

Well, that is what it is.

Stars, Thrashers and Panthers Concepts

Just an added note on my previous post. I am well aware that Montreal, Calgary, Boston and Philadelphia will all sport a different alternate jersey this season, but those are all throwbacks. It wouldn't be fair to the young RBK Edge jerseys. If those throwbacks were on, they'd all be at the top of the list. Boston's Winter Classic would be #1.

Starting with the concepts.

If the Panthers' new 3rd really takes off, we might see a road white added to the mix.

I think Dallas needs more green on their jerseys. So here's a Dallas Stars 3rd jersey concept.

Atlanta's current jerseys are okay. They are modern, such as the Thrashers are a modern team. So, I can accept them. Here's a more classic looking Atlanta Thrashers concept.

Back to the drawing board.

Panthers Release 3rd Jersey, 2009-10 3rd Uni Rankings

Last night the Florida Panthers debuted their new third sweaters during a 3-2 loss to the Penguins. They also have new pant shells and socks to match.

A new crest and shoulder logo are featured on the jersey.

Again, we see laces on a jersey. I think laces are great on some jerseys, but we are starting to get into a phase where everyone is putting laces on their jerseys. Last year, 7 of the 18 third jerseys released had laces on them. This season, 4 of 4 new jerseys had laces.

Another trend is the circle logo. I'm talking about the logo in the middle of a circle which contains the team name. It was cool when Minnesota did it because it was a neat homage to the throwback thing. Chicago was the first to do it back in 1926. Now we have everyone doing it. (St. Louis, Nashville, Phoenix, Florida) Pittsburgh and Chicago third jerseys don't count as those are throwback jerseys. As of right now, I am deeming it a copycat trend. If another new jersey, after Florida, comes out with a circle logo, it is UNACCEPTABLE.

Out of the four new alternates this year, my least favourite is Nashville's. The striping and colours are too close to the Leafs and the checkerboard pattern seems useless.

Number three is Colorado's new jersey. When I saw the concept on the internet, I thought it was going to look pretty goofy. When I saw it on the ice with the black pants, helmets and gloves it looked pretty cool. If only they would officially acknowledge that the blue is a nod to their former selves, the Nordiques.

My second fav is the above mentioned Panthers' sweater. I like the mix of navy and steel blue. The new Panther head is very angry and cool. I'm not a big fan of the FLA shoulder patch and the circle logo will pass, but NO MORE from this point on.

That leaves Minnesota as my favourite third jersey released for the 09-10 season. I love the forest green with the vintage wheat colour scheme. A lot of people don't like wordmarks on jerseys, but I don't mind this one. They've added the north stars to the M and crossing the T and that makes it into a logo.

That was a long post, go give your eyes a rest.

Winter Classic Concepts, Sharks and Islanders 10-11 Jersey

I`ve started to come up with some 2011 Winter Classic concepts. Lets start with a possible game in Toronto`s Rogers Centre between the Maple Leafs and the Canadiens.

Or possibly, the game would be held in Minnesota`s new Target Center between the former Minnesota North Stars (Dallas Stars) and the Minnesota Wild. The Dallas jersey is based on the 1990 white North Stars jersey and the Wild jersey is based on the 1975 North Stars green jersey.

Here`s a San Jose Sharks concept using the old Los Angeles Sharks WHA logo.

We conclude with the new York Islanders, who from all reports, will wear their retro sweaters full time in the 2010-11 season. Here`s the new New York Islanders road jersey.

That`s all.

Oilers, Nashville, Penguins and more.

Back on Blogger. The images come up in a Google search when I use Blogger to post.

Enough with that, move on to the concepts!
First, seeing as the Oilers are using the blue and orange jerseys as their home jerseys how long is it before we see this concept on the road?

I know Boston already revealed their Winter Classic jersey, but before they did here was my Bruins Winter Classic concept.

Rumours of a Blue Jackets third jersey to be debuted next season, how about this red concept?

Nashville has to have some of the worst jerseys in the league, so I came up with a whole new concept for the Predators.

New Jersey will wear these throwbacks on St. Patrick's Day this season.

Finally a little weird, but how about seeing the Pittsburgh Penguins in gold?

That's that.
